CGS Entertainment Inc. was founded in 1998 as a full service entertainment agency. Since the company’s incorporation, sub-divisions of the company have been created to focus on our different services- production and recording, booking, and live-sound and lighting reinforcement. Big Axle Music was created to focus on all business regarding studio production and has grown into a full service production company. Book It 4 Us is a fully functioning booking agency created in order to handle all booking needs between our clients and our artists, including talent evolution, artist negotiation, and on-site management. Lastly, DLJ Productions was formed to handle all sound reinforcement and contracting services.

Charles Scales
President, Co-Founder, Director of A&R
An alumni of the University of Michigan, Charles received his education in composition and arranging and continued his musical knowledge by studying studio engineering at the Recording Institute of Detroit. For years he served as staff producer and account executive for Paragon Records, and staff producer of commercial jingles for Oracle Audio before co-creating his own recording studio in the heart of downtown Detroit, Loft Recording Studios. Today, he splits his time and talents between owning and producing for his own recording label, Big Axle Music and making CGS one of the most prestigious booking agencies in the state. His practical knowledge of live performance, talent evaluation, studio production, contract negotiations and more makes him the number one go-to guy for your music booking needs
Gwen Scales
Vice-President, Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer
Educated at Wayne State University and Marygrove College, Gwen is our go to expert for all of our administrative needs. She represents our vocal talent and songwriting arm of Big Axle Music, as well as serving as our financial guru. Gwen is currently signed to Expansion records of London, England. Her songs and music are licensed in the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia- listen to some of her music at www.lastfm.com. In addition to her extensive work with CGS, Gwen also serves as Chair of the Detroit Entertainment Commission in conjunction with the City of Detroit, is a certified personal trainer, and is the founder and owner of One Step Ahead, a non-profit organization geared towards helping students find resources to fund their college educations.
Briana Scales
Chief Operating Officer, Director of Marketing
Briana Scales holds a BA in Music and a BA in Psychology from Kalamazoo College and a MS in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. She also holds a graduate certificate in Business Management from the Rollins Crummer School of Business. Musically, Briana is a classically trained vocalist and instrumentalist, playing the cello and piano. She delved into the music business at a young age, creating her first string quartet in the 6th grade. Alongside her position at CGS, Briana is currently the Executive Director of the Florida Youth Symphony Orchestra. Some of her skills include grant writing, fundraising, special events, and client relations.
Lauren Scales
Director of Talent Acquisition, Social Media Manager
Lauren Scales holds a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Songwriting Composition from New York University. Musically she has received several honors as a vocalist and composer, winning 2nd Runner Up in the 2016 Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition and receiving the 2017 NYU Songwriting Scholar Award, presented in conjunction with the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Alongside her position at CGS Lauren is a freelance musician and teaching artist in the New York City and Metro-Detroit Areas. Some of her skills include website design, social media marketing, and music production.
Dwayne Jones
